In August 2008, the Canadian Space Agency chose Project Whitecard to lead the development of an interactive 3D environment, designed to teach mathematics in the context of upcoming Space Shuttle Mission STS-127, and the role of Canadian astronaut Julie Payette. The 3D interactive — entitled Robo-Math — is destined for middle and high school classrooms across the country.
In December 2008, Project Whitecard — along with partners Virtual Heroes and Information in Place/Wisdom Tools — was selected to move forward with the effort to create a NASA-themed “massively multiplayer” online game, designed to deliver science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education to individuals ages 13 through the college years.
Its international success will see Project Whitecard create numerous new high-tech jobs in Manitoba and will provide the firm exceptional exposure and an enhanced reputation as it further engages in international commerce.
